Kudus are very wary when approaching waterholes and will stop and listen for anything unusual, and will dash off at the first hint of something they maybe cannot see but can hear. Perhaps this guy has been startled by the flapping of the plovers (Blacksmith Lapwings is their more correct, new name!), but they don’t present a threat, so he’s happy to continue his journey.” – Paul B.
