“This painting features two cheetah, probably brothers, taking a break in the shade of some trees at the edge of Etosha Pan. Even though they seem relaxed they are always alert for any signs of danger or maybe an unsuspecting meal that might wander past, unaware of their presence. It is always a thrill to see these cats in their natural habitat and quite a rare occurrence. I feel very privileged to witness these amazing sightings as part of my ‘job’.
The painting was awarded the ‘Best in Category: Earth’s Wild Beauty’ at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year competition 2020, sometimes referred to as ‘The Oscars’ of wildlife art!
